Release notes

S2E8 · Friends

2.0 (28) Apple iOS beta
  • View Buddies. Invite friends with a link or QR code, see what they're watching, and choose exactly what you share. Off unless you turn it on.
  • Our List. A watchlist you share with one buddy, right in your Watchlist.
  • Plan tab. Your Streaming Plan has its own tab: see which services to keep and which to pause.
  • The Me tab. Stats is now Me, with your Buddies and Settings.
  • Search people and genres. Find an actor or director, or type a genre like rom-com.
  • Smoother and safer. Smoother scrolling, What to Watch rows that refill as you watch, faster actor pages, and a way to replace your iCloud copy if backups pause after restoring a smaller backup.
  • Fixes for a crash while posters load, See More, and long-pressing shows that haven't aired.
Previous builds

S2E7 · Home Alone

2.0 (25) Apple iOS beta
  • What's New in the app. After an update, a short screen shows what changed.
  • Up Next your way. Choose whether TV or movies comes first.
  • Streaming Services. Every tab works like Paid. Price a live TV service, or remove one you dropped.
  • Change a watch date on episodes too, and the calendar moves between months.
  • Skipped seasons list their episodes, crossed out.
  • Bigger screens and landscape. Two-pane title pages, more posters in Explore and full backdrops.
  • Safer backups. Your iCloud recovery copy is protected while a new install is still downloading it, and "start from season 3" now survives backups.
  • Support Viewography. An optional tip jar in Settings. Tips are free while in TestFlight.
  • Fixes for Mark Watched from Explore, unwatching episodes on shows split into seasons, rating Undo, See More, search and large CSV imports.

S2E6 · Saturday Night Live

2.0 (24) Apple iOS beta
  • Live TV. Add YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, DirecTV Stream, Fubo, Sling or Philo, your cable or satellite provider, or an antenna. Viewography knows their channels and shows where to watch, like "YouTube TV · Food Network". Your streaming services always come first.
  • A simpler where-to-watch. The main answer first, then only the services you have, with everything else under "More ways to watch".
  • Rating takes a deliberate tap. Stars no longer change when you scroll past them. Tap Rate, pick your stars and save, with Undo.
  • Watchlist knows what's next. Shows you're caught up on sit second, sorted by the next episode: Today, Tomorrow, In 3 days, or Next season.
  • Up Next opens faster, with your movies there right away.
  • What to Watch fills in faster as you scroll, with the next rows loading before you reach them.
  • Poster captions name just the service, like "HBO Max".
  • Shows that are a season of another show on TMDB, like The Traitors: New Blood, can be matched to that season, keeping your history.
  • Fixes for posters flashing their title when tapped, the Done button covering rows, and logos.

S2E5 · Everything Everywhere All at Once

2.0 (23) Apple iOS beta
  • Watch Later. Keep a title on your Watchlist but out of Up Next, in its own Watch Later rows. Watching it, or removing Watch Later, brings it back.
  • Where each episode streams. When a show is split across services, Viewography shows where the episode you're up to can be watched, including new episodes on networks through TV Access.
  • Episode details. Tap an episode for its image, summary, cast and crew, and where to watch it. Tap anyone for their filmography. New episodes from the last 14 days are marked NEW.
  • A redesigned Explore. One row of filters for where it streams, genre and year, with results you can watch in the US.
  • Up Next fits on one screen on current iPhones.
  • After an import, Up Next fills in first, and a large library finishes in minutes instead of hours.
  • Long-running shows load every season, and you can mark a season unwatched.

S2E4 · Back to the Future

2.0 (22) Apple iOS beta
  • Trakt import is easier: find it anytime in Settings, paste your profile link or type your username (underscores work), and get clear help if your profile is private. The last step now says exactly what it will add.
  • While a big import fills in, Up Next and Watchlist show "Getting your library ready" with progress.
  • Settings is organized into simple panels.
  • Streaming services have a new Add-ons tab for channels you get through Prime Video, Apple TV or Roku. Network apps like Bravo, FX and TCM now sit under TV Access.
  • "Find more" on Up Next opens just that kind of title, with a button for all of What to Watch.
  • Long titles fit neatly on posters.
  • Watchlist shows "Checking availability…" while it checks, and movies in theaters move out of "Availability to check" more reliably.
  • Movies that aren't out yet no longer offer Watched At or Owned.
  • Viewography is now iPhone only.
